The Dr. John A. Gable Memorial Lecture Series, sponsored each year by The Friends of Sagamore Hill, honors the legacy of Dr. John A. Gable (pictured above) as long-time Director of the Theodore Roosevelt Association and tireless advocate for both Theodore Roosevelt and his enduring presence on the American scene.

All Lectures are held Thursday evenings @ 7:00 p.m.

First Lecture of 2020


On Thursday, March 26, 2020, Burt Solomon will discuss his fictional book, The Attempted Murder of Theodore Roosevelt, based on the very real 1902 accident that almost killed President Roosevelt in Pittsfield, MA.  Additional information on this lecture is available below under "Upcoming Lectures in 2020" and clicking "Download".

On Thursday, April 23, 2020, David Fisher will discuss the William Barnes vs. Theodore Roosevelt libel suit in 1915, based on the book that he co-wrote with Dan Abrams, Theodore Roosevelt For The Defense.

On Thursday, May 21, 2020, Ellen and Gregory Schaefer, from the North Creek Railway Depot Museum, will deliver a lecture on the timeline starting with where TR was when McKinley was shot, leading up to, and including, his "Night Ride to the Presidency”, from Mt. Marcy to the North Creek Depot.
